  3. Hello ladies,
I wanted to share what I call an exercise of faith that I started a few years ago the day I quit my corporate job. There are times I look at the bank account and start to think about all of the expenses that are coming up and then ‘panic’ would set in followed by the question “How will I make enough to take care of this?”

Here is the exercise I started. First, I would say out loud ‘I cancel that thought’ and then next I would say ‘My God will provide. More will come’.

And even in times that I set a higher goal God always showed up with what I needed. Leading a business with a team of 1 or a team of 10 will test your resolve and call forth a higher version of yourself as a leader. This exercise is something I still have to do today at times and now I realize it is the enemy trying to throw me off track.

So as you grow your business and set higher goals remember that if God called you to it He will provide.

    • Amen! I do get discourage at times because I have more expenses that income for my business. I know this is what God called me to do so I have to remain faithful.

    • Yes Shemeka! He calls us to remain faithful and in that we trust that He has it all in control. I like what TD Jakes says about this in his new book. He says ‘stop praying that God gives you a table when He has given you an ax and a forest”

Through our business we can make our own table! Believing with you that God will provide,

  4. Hello,
I wanted to share a money mindset moment I had this past week. Since leaving my corporate job a few years ago to work my business full time there have been many moments of looking at the bank account, deep breath, and then praying.

I made a decision last week to change the narrative I was telling myself so that I don’t need a deep breath but moreover flow with God. What I would tell myself in those moments is “more will come” and that gave me peace because I know God is my provider and the business is just a delivery method to get the funds to me.

So now, when those moments come (because they still do) I don’t breath first I simply reply with “More will come” and then proclaim 2 Corinthian 10:5 over my mind to cancel the mindset attacks that would try to get me down and throw me off course.

Now, has this been easy? No, but growth in the Lord never easy and just knowing that I’m okay that it may take me a while to let this be the new normal way of thinking for me because I trust the Father has me.

    I pray this blesses you…

    • Amen. I pray that more will come.

    • Standing in prayer with you Shemeka

  5. Okay, so here is the question. After last week’s Masterclass and my brainstorm through the Clarity Business Retreat, I am blown away by one thing. Lethia said that if it was costing less than $1800 that I would not need to provide the food.
Wow! How do I wrap may head around that? What is your ‘logical’ way to to put a price on what you offer? I have been thinking about value based- a.k.a., What would it cost them to not have this problem solved?
What are some other ways to think through pricing especially for a business retreat?

    • This is a great question Deneen! When pricing for retreats or high end services I consider first all of the different touch points or engagements that I’ll have to do. For example if it is a 90 day coaching program, how many sessions will I have with the client.

The more access someone has to you the higher the price point. For the retreat maybe offer a introduction rate and a VIP that gives maybe a private dinner the last night or a follow up group session with you.

    • I went to an educational 3 day retreat program at Harvard 2/28/20-3/2/2020 tuition was $2600. That did not include hotel, lunch or dinner. We had the Sunday fellowship dinner covered and a very very light breakfast in the morning.

    • My job covered the cost but people paid out of pocket for that.

  6. Diann, Our money story, thoughts and behaviors are generally based from our childhood experiences and interactions around money. I have found for my clients a good start is to write your current money story (gig deep) and then rewrite your story as to how you would like your story, thoughts and action. I hope that helps ~ Cathy

    • Excellent point Cathy! Thank you

    • Cathy, I am going to take that on as an action step. I believe my money story has changed over the years. I have found that the more I believe in my worth the more I can accept money into my life. I am just starting a business (literally – this is my first actual week of seeing clients) and I have noticed that I still need to grow in this area because I find it very difficult to have the money conversation with potential clients on the pricing of my services. So I am going to complete the rewriting my money story exercise until my money mindset shifts.

      Thanks Cathy!

    • Cathy- this is a great suggestion and I will consider it an action step to take sooner than later. I appreciate your guidance. I love being here in the middle of this community of experts and hearts of fire to serve.

  7. Hi LaDawn, so excited to meet you here. O the issue of money management and having a healthy view on money. Being raised a poor kid I always remember being raised knowing money was an issue. If you do not have it you can not spend it. Credit was never the answer. I was taught to do with out or find a cheaper way to achieve. Being an adult and given a different card than my parents I still find myself cutting corners. If I may be totally transparent here, my issue is not knowing the best way to portion out income to best serve God, my family and my business. I believe it is this way because I never had the life style to push me to learn. I believe my income is a gift from God, every penny. My goal is to become a wise investor no matter how small or large my pennies may be. Hugs to you my sister. Di

    • Love this attitude Diann! God rewards us with being a good steward of what we have and then watch Him expand it! Praying your storehouse overflows this year!

  8. I’m so glad to be apart of the Audacious Faith community, as a believer and business owner my belief around money has been an interesting journey. I’ve had to learn how to be a good steward of my finances, which built the discipline to handle the call to be a business owner. The biggest lesson I learned in expanding my understanding of money is to give myself grace throughout the process while building discipline. I hope this encourages you!
