  1. Hello sisters,

I am working on building out my funnels. As a peak performance strategist I help professionals to achieve more at work, so they exceed their goals, and increase their influence.

I have one funnel for professional individuals. I have a variety of lead magnets that would funnel them to an evergreen webinar. The goal of the webinar is going to make an offer for them to sign up for a $197 or a $97 e-Course.

The second funnel is for corporations and associations. I currently I am planning on creating a Free 3-Part mini-course, so they can get a sample of my training abilities and then invite me to train their staff. Currently this is what I have listed:

    Title: Work Performance Mastery.
Module 1: 7 Benefits of Achieving More in Less Time.
Module 2: 5 Biggest Mistakes in Creating Performance Goals.
Module 3: 3 Myths and 3 Truths About Employee Motivation.

Please provide feedback on the title of the mini-course and modules.

    • Great job on the progress you’ve made Shemeka. During a training session Lethia taught last year she shared a resource that rates the title of anything you want to send out. I’ll post the link below and would recommend running the titles through this tool.

The tool will give you a breakdown on how the audience would respond to the title based on a emotional marketing index rate.

  2. Hello Ladies!
The strategy day on referrals was great. I also mentioned in our November call that I was looking for a tool to help me create my affiliate/refferal marketing. I was blessed to find one on app sumo during their Black Friday sale call Viral Loops. It is something certainly worth looking into. It is only available for the next few days. You can go directly on the site if you already have an account, if not here is my refferal link http://fbuy.me/v/info_3563

    • Thanks for sharing this!

  3. Hello Ladies,
I’m reporting in on the tip I gave before about offering a free training session or similar offering to your potential clients. The last few consultations I had I offered this and the leads are very open and now with 2 we are planning a date to host a 30 minute free training for their teams.

This is a way to get your foot in the door and when you’re in the door make sure to ask for the business.

    • That is great. Are you allowed to make a sales offer in the presentation or send them an email afterwards.

    • It depends on what the host is comfortable with however I would suggest to lead them to a offer to get into your email list. Either a free “something” consultation or a free opt in and then follow up with them offline.

If you pitch directly at the end of the training and no one buys then that’s the end of the road. If you offer them a next step to engage with you it keeps the door open.

  4. Hello ladies,
Here is a sales tip that has been working for me and that is inviting customers that purchase a lower ticket item to a free workshop or online class. For me it is the monthly strategy workshop in my program, I invite a new customer to attend for free and then follow up with them afterwards.

So far I’ve had two clients say yes! By having something else on the calendar to push the client to it will help your sales process because they can have more interactions with you before making a larger buying decision.

  5. Right now I am working on automating my sales process. I finally have all the technology tools to help me but now I need to create my strategy. I was blessed today to discover a new podcast that focuses on sales systems for speakers. I am learning a lot and it is helping me think through some things for my business. Here is the link to the podcast. The podcast is called Speaker Sales Systems Podcast

    https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/speaker-sales-systems-podcast

    • Congrats on the movement forward! Once the systems are in place it makes the process much simpler.

  6. Hello ladies,
I wanted to share a lead generation tip that is working. I’m working towards my sales goal and one of the areas that I need to improve on are warm leads. With this in mind I decided to reach out to everyone that is a follower on IG, a network connection on LinkedIn and Facebook business page.

The goal is to engage with the individual by commenting on one post and liking another. I then send this message to them:

“Thanks for connecting with me on IG. Your page has great content”

Once the person responses I then start a conversation asking them about their business or something that stands out based on their profile. Once we build rapport I send a invite to a free training, here is the message I use”

“Oh by the way, did you receive a copy of our free training for business owners? If not, can I share it with you?”

When they response I keep the dialogue as a conversation and the next response is:

“Great. Let me grab the link. I’ll be right back.”

I wait a few minutes, normally I’m checking other messages and then I respond with a link to sign up for my free opt in.

To make the responses easier so that you don’t have to type each one or to copy from a document IG allows you to set up auto replies that you can select from the message and insert. This auto reply isn’t a bot that will read the message and respond for you.

Here are the results so far.

Total IG followers 1500 (minus family and friends = 1400)
Within 72 hours I’ve messaged 60 people and now have:
    2 Sales consultations
9 people in my free FB group
6 people opted into the free offer

I would limit sending the message to about 2 – 3 hours a day so that your account isn’t flagged.

For more tips on how to set up the IG instant replies here is an article.

    • Thank you for sharing this. I have wasted money on social media ads, and I am now learning that it is best to reach out to people directly. I need to take some time to work out my sales system. There is so much to be done.

    • Yes, sales systems are the strength of our business!

  7. Hi Ladies,

    • Hi Ashley,
The opt in is a value add to your audience I would recommend add some keywords into the name that will capture the audience’s attention.

On one of the previous strategy days Lethia shared a resource that ranks the engagement probability of a headline. Here is the link https://www.aminstitute.com/headline/

I use it for almost everything we send out.

Also, in your follow up process the trip wire is good maybe also offer a free 30 minute strategy session with yourself to build more leads in the pipeline.

      Cheering you on

  8. Hello Ladies,
Here is a tip on following up on sales. I know that with running a business there are many activities that we have to do and sometimes, for myself, following up on sales leads or identifying new sales prospects doesn’t get the attention it should.

What I’ve done is set up time in my calendar for a few hours throughout the week to follow up on potential clients and reach out to existing clients to ask for referrals. I block out a 2 hour window and send emails, chat on FB, IG or LinkedIn or phone calls.

Hope this helps to bring something fresh to the sales follow up process for you.

  9. Hello Ladies,

I do not see any resources here regarding a proposal. I am working on my first virtual keynote proposal and I would like to know of any resources that have great examples.

    • Hi Shemeka,
Congrats on your proposal! That is a awesome achievement and I’ll be praying for you. Proposals is something that I work with alot and the best guidance I can give is to make sure the document is brief (know more than 5 -7 pages) and it highlights you as the expert. Here is the format I use for proposals:

      Page 1 – welcome letter
Page 2 – Objectives – outline what the objectives are for the event or project and how you can add value
Page 3-4 – Outline what you will provide along with a timeline, if applicable, of when you will outline it
Page 5- closing letter and add a client testimonial (if available) to the end.

  10. Hello Ladies!

I am working on developing sales pages for my online ecourses. I need help thinking through the refund policy. Do I give 30 days, no refunds or etc.

    • Hello Shemeka,
This is a great question and I love the strategy that you are thinking through for your business.

Each business owner has a different view on this what I’ve done since the start of my company is have a no refund, no exchange and sales are final policy. This is stated in our agreements, order forms and terms & conditions on our website.

Whatever your decide pray about it and then stand with your decisions and communicate it clearly.

  11. Hello all! I hope you are well during this time and also excited about what God is doing in the marketplace. I wanted to share a tip on creating conversations, a strategy that I’ve been testing the past month.

A large number of people are still working remotely and what I’m offering is a weekly call, you can refer to it as a pop-up coaching or connect group session. The idea is that people would have to apply to be invited (signing up to your email list) and then they are sent the instructions of how to join the call.

I’ve had 3 people respond so far that they are interested in attending a future session! This was great news because those were silent leads that had not responded to my outreach over the past few months.

    • It is great that you brought this up. I was interested in doing something like this but I was heading in the direction of focus group. I would look into doing something like this on a Friday for a quick 30 minute coffee break check in. Do you recommend that I do this in a group or individually with professional women?

    • Hey Shemeka,
I would target on a small group of your prospective client, even 2 or 3 can turn out to be solid leads and from there you follow up and nurture.

  12. Hello ladies,

I know that many of you may be finding yourself amid sales conversations not going the way you intended or even having a challenging time of booking sales calls.

I’ve implemented a different outreach to prospects and that is to offer a “assessment” of how COVID has impacted their business and what to do to move forward. The prospects I work with are B2B but this can also work for individuals.

Essentially what you want to do is to reach out and offer guidance to what your target customer is going through during this time and what can you assist them with to overcome this. I’ve begun to use this approach and it is turning responses of “call me in October” to opening up to dialogue for a “yes, I’ll meet with you” to happen sooner.

I’ll keep you posted on the results.

  13. This week I had a sales success that I wanted to share. When I first started my business I had zero funds available for advertising so I turned to cold calling.

Trust me I wasn’t excited about that concept either but I knew that I had to start somewhere. I started by making calls before going into work and I had success but I forgot about following up. Over the years I’ve become better at this and recently I had a prospective client reach out to me after I made a cold call to her last February and she wanted to collaborate with me on a upcoming project.

What’s the lesson? She told me that when she learned of this project she remember how I shared with her the way that I teach strategy for companies and she knew I would be the right fit. The lesson is before you advertise, cold call or warm call is to be super clear on the problem you solve and the experience you can bring to the table.

People will remember this especially if what you do impacts a problem area in their life, they may not share it but they will remember it.

    • Thanks for this reminder. 🙂

    • Anytime!

  14. Hello ladies,
This week I ran into some limiting beliefs around selling. When this happens for me I wanted to just share a tip with you that helped me to “shake off” the negative thoughts.

When I get into this state of mind I remind myself that “sales is just a conversation between two people to see if it is a good fit to work together or purchase your product”

Hope this helps! Post below what you do to keep it moving!

    • Thanks!

    • Glad that it helps Shemeka!

  15. Hello Ladies,
Sales was a area of struggle for me for well over 10 years. I’ve now learned ways to overcome that fear and move forward to grow sales within my company. I’m always interested to know what other leaders do to overcome fear of sales. What is your go to method? Scripture? Song or Motto that you use to get into sales action.

    Thanks for sharing

    • LaDawn, I have several scriptures that I stand on that have been very helpful and you can read them here – https://myaudaciousfaith.com/30-scriptures-to-help-you-overcome-fear-and-anxiety/.

Another thing that helps me a lot is to remember God’s faithfulness during previous times when I struggled with fear.

Suggestion: Try keeping a regular journal or at least a prayer journal where you record your prayers and when and how God asters. This will help you to remember all of the blessings and benefits you have received from God.

      I hope this helps.

    • Thank you Lethia! This is very helpful, especially the journal. I look forward to that.

  16. If we think about selling like Jesus we would have to think about intention. If we sell something it is all about them. If we share or serve it is all about the benefactor.

    • Karen- Did you know there is a book called, Marketing Like Jesus by Darren Shearer? He is my publisher. It has 25 ways to sell like Jesus. 🙂

    • This book sounds like a must read! Thanks Deneen for sharing.

  17. Sales Tip – Thank You Cards

We live in a digital world, so something that will make you stand out from other people are hand-written thank you notes. It is SO rare to receive one!

I buy protein bars from Supplement Superstores. The guys, Nick, Josh and CJ all know me by name. Each time I’ve purchased from them, I get a hand-written thank you note, and it involves a conversation we exchanged. Now when I’m running low, I could go to Wal-Mart or Trader Joe’s and buy my bars, but I want to support these guys. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but their personal gesture goes a long way with me.

Something else I did in my radio sales days was to send Thanksgiving cards instead of Christmas cards. You could get lost in the Christmas cards, but not Thanksgiving.

    • Jackie, I love the idea of Thanksgiving gifts instead of Christmas gifts. Also not a crazy of a time to run around and deliver gifts.

  18. I feel like a novice when it comes to my Sales Calls. I call them Clarity Conversations and I think I am still giving too much ‘clarity’. I am learning though. I have a new strategy that I am getting better at but am not quite there. What are some strategies that have worked for you for a discovery call which is really a Sales Call?

    • Congrats Deneen on looking for ways to up your sales game! I had a HUGE fear of sales for well over a decade and what I found was the most helpful for me was to treat it as a conversation that the #1 goal was for me to identify if my services could support this person and if they were a good fit for me.

To help with this I start all sales calls with setting the agenda and letting them know that “If I feel I can support them in their goals I will share what those options are during the call”. I find that being upfront that “I am going to sell to you on this call” shortens the amount of follow up and also separates the shoppers from the serious potential customers.

I also now have an application process that all consultation request must go through.

    • LaDawn,
      Thanks for the feedback.
I love that you are upfront with them. I agree too that I want to be the right fit and know that I can help them.
AND, great idea about the application process. Right now I have three questions. I think I need to expand that to be something more.

    • I love that application process LaDawn. When I’ve had to fill those out through a scheduler, even for someone who knew me, my thoughts were that this person’s time is valuable and there is a goal to be accomplished on the call. It’s SO important to pre-qualify people as much as possible for both parties.

    • LaDawn, Love the style of setting the intention upfront!

    • Thanks ladies it does help and allows me to focus my time on those I can serve now 🙂

    • One other note to add. This process also gives me freedom to release those that I know I’m not supposed to serve now and removes that ‘guilty’ feeling. By standing in my own truth of who I’m supposed to serve it releases the other person to work with who they are intended to be with.

That is a big lesson that Lethia’s coaching has helped me to realize.

    • Hello Deneen,

I have the same challenge and currently working on developing some structure to my “discovery” calls. As LaDawn mentioned, I am working on developing a application for prospective clients to complete in advance to qualify.

A consultant once told me that you do not sell on a coaching call and you do not coach on a sales call. I have taken that advice and added the Christian perspective of the Holy Spirit to help me balance the conversation.

    • I too gave too much information away but I was meeting in person so I was also giving too much time away. That has changed.
