  1. Hello ladies,
I wanted to share a loving lesson that the Lord has taught me this week and it is to remember that He is Faithful. At times in our business, I can become focused on hitting the target that I forget I have the ultimate Strategist and that is our Father.

When I pause to remember this and to ask Him how he wants me to go about my day and even the goals for the business the pressure of ‘hitting the target’ subsides and I can enjoy the journey.

God will provide all we need and it is always going to be right on time.

  2. Hello Ladies,
I hope you are well during this time.

Today I’m reminded of the weight that comes with the purpose of our life. As much as it may seem heavy at times to be the leader of our companies I reminded that God knows this and it isn’t that He wants us to carry it on our own. It is that He wants us to come to him with all of the baggage and seek Him.

What the Lord is teaching me is that in the seeking Him it is important to listen so I find myself on most days sitting quietly in my worship time and asking God to speak to me.

The Lord is loving to share with me in scripture or song what can help to heal the heaviness of the journey and He reminds me that He is with me.

    • Hi Angela,
Welcome to the community! So glad you are here. ๐Ÿ™‚

What does the name of your podcast mean? Just curious.

    • Welcome Angela! Glad to have you here!

  4. I just finished reading for the 4th time a great book for business owners, it is the Travelers Gift by Andy Andrews. I won’t give the story away but if you ever feel like failure or you’re not moving fast enough to get things done this book will shift your perspective and touch your spirit.

I pray the book encourages you.

    • Thanks for all you ideas!

  5. This week I was reminded strongly on how we need to do the work of what we can and then ‘let’ God do the rest. Sometimes in the midst of tweaking our brand message, practicing our sales conversations, I find I can get lost in thinking “What else can I do”?

When those moments come I need to remind myself that I can only do what I can do and to always remember to put God first. Putting God first isn’t just during the morning of how I start my day but it is in every decision in my business.

So the practice I’m getting into is to stop and thank God for what He has brought during the day and ask “What would you have me to do next?”

It isn’t easy but it does give me peace.

    • It is true that entrepreneurs we just sometimes don’t know how to turn off. ๐Ÿ™‚ I love that you are prioritizing God. I have a tool I use to help others get focused and know when to turn off. It is my SUPER-8 Day. It boils down to doing at least 8 things per day to know you have done enough for your life and business.

    • I like the concept of 8 things! I’m going to try that. It may be hard at first but if by focusing on the 8 priorities I can see how my day will end with a better feeling of accomplishment

  6. While in different circles of women, serving in women’s ministry in a couple different churches I see a shared fear from women- that’s praying out loud in the group or even one on one with another woman. I know it come’s easy for some and nerve gripping for others.

For me, it was off and on… Sometimes I felt as if I had nothing to offer.
No one wanted to hear my voice, or the others said it all, what can I add.
At first I thought I did not pray as “eloquent” as everyone else.

Do you relate to any of those things…are your thought’s different? If so what are they?

When I first came to Christ I listened to how people prayed. Some were real formal as they prayed, and some were what I thought very, “relaxed”.

The answer is… just be you! It’s okay to tell God he is “totally cool” or call Him “Gracious and Holy. When you are asked to pray for someone FEAR NOT. Do it and just pray from your heart. Break the lies of the enemy… Your prayer, your words are powerful and they don’t have to sound like the person next to you…As your relationship grows with the Lord, so will your prayers.

Please be encouraged the next time you have an opportunity to PRAY OUT LOUD in a group, break the shackles, regain the power and just do it. It does not have to be lengthy, but break the barrier, silence the voice in your head that says you have nothing to offer, Your prayer will change a life…including your own. Call me directly and give me your testimony… It’s going to be GREAT.

    • I agree Diann, when we just come to prayer as our way to talk to the Father, there is no “I’m not good enough”. Prayer is you pouring out to God what is on your heart.
      Thanks for this.

  7. I found this quote and it blessed my soul. I hope it blesses you as well.
โ€œGod wants to catch your ear in order to awaken your voice. When you have your โ€˜quietโ€™ time, or as you walk outdoors, or during your commute, may the decibel level appropriately rise to joyful noise and cries of needโ€”and may you trust that God listens to the sound of your voice.โ€

    • Amen.

    • This is a test

    • Lethia, this list of 30 scriptures is awesome and my favorite is Deuteronomy 31:6
โ€œBe strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.โ€

Ladies a nice print out to share with friends and family!!!

      God speed to all!!

    • Thank you Lethia! Anxiety is something that I struggle with and has held me back in my business. I am happy to get the help and support to overcome this and move forward in my business.

  8. As you know I stand on the phrase, “Grow your Faith so it Fuels your business”. With that in mind I want to introduce my NEW QUIZ- Who is your Biblical Woman Mentor?

I have taken SIX Business Women from my Book and created a QUIZ to identify WHO is most like you.

Would LOVE for you to take the QUIZ- http://bit.ly/BiblicalMentorQuiz

Let me know which Mentor is yours!

    • Hi Deneen, Thank you for this quiz. I’m Puah & Shiphrah! I can’t wait to study about them more in the Bible….Would you like for us to share the quiz link with others?

    • Thanks Deneen, My biblical mentor is Rahab. I can’t wait to learn more about her.

    • LaDawn, Please do share the quiz.
I LOVE that you are Puah & Shiphrah.
Did you know who they were before you took the quiz?
The business principle they teach is, “I stand up for what is right, regardless of the consequences”.
How do you see that quality in yourself?

    • Hi Deneen,
The quiz was so eye opening! Still meditating and praying on how I see myself.. (p.s. I love the emails I’m receiving from you)

    • Hello Deneen, I took the quiz and I am Lydia! I am so happy and not surprised. i always looked up to her. Similar to her, I have a background in the fashion industry. I attended the high school of fashion industries and received a BS in fashion design.

  9. Twelve years ago I discovered the power of meditation after one crazy work day too many. I was about to literally lose my mind after a conference call kept getting moved, preventing a rare lunch visit with my son.

After the call, I searched for a guided meditation CD a friend had given me years ago. My idea of meditation was “doing nothing.” I was a busy marketing consultant. I didn’t have time to “do nothing.”

Growing up in the Christian faith, meditation was never mentioned. Prayer and Bible study were, along with the occasional contemplative prayer, but not meditation. I never had a belief that it was any sort of evil, but then, I didn’t care to try this meditation stuff unless God was in the center.

There was a 10 minute and 20 minute version on the CD. I didn’t have time to “do nothing” for 20 minutes, so I tried the 10 minute version. The results were immediate. I felt instant peace. Kind of funny, after that day, the conference calls stopped.

Meditation has transformed my life to no longer react but to respond. I’m able to be a better listener to others, to my own still, small voice and to the Holy Spirit.

I like to say that prayer is talking to God and meditation is listening to God. Instead of prayer, I sit to just be with God. When I do, I gain clarity, direction and inspiration.

I’m so passionate about meditation that I created guided meditations to help people. Now, I no longer need a guide because I’ve learned how to quiet my mind… most days. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I have learned how to be still and to still my racing thoughts.

Meditating on Scripture is also good. It’s good to take just one verse or even a word and hold onto that for a day or for a week. I love to cook. It’s like marinating something to bring out the flavor over time. ๐Ÿ™‚ Do you practice a form of meditation?

    • Jackie, I love meditating on God’s word. It helps me to stay mindful of His promises. I am working on scripture memorization because I want to integrate it with my meditation practice.

  10. Hi Deneen, I am easily distracted when I sit for my prayer time. I have to actually tell myself I am getting distracted. If I am being distracted by my house chores and feel the impulse to get up and just start vacuuming I have to tell myself it has gone this long, and it can wait a little longer. I have to make a concerted effort to know that is my weakness and just keep on praying.

I also have one place I love to sit and pray. I keep my bible there along with a note pad and pen. It is my spot and ready for me and the Lord to have our time.

I was also taught breath prayers by a dear friend. It’s like praying under your breath and can be one anywhere and anytime. I do this a lot when I am driving and just want to pray over something or someone. I love your praying in color. What a great concept for a creative. Thank you for sharing that.

    • Diann, I love breath prayers because we can say them at any time. I would encourage you to use the great space you have created to ‘be still’ and allow God to impress on you what He wants to tell your heart. That’s why I think the journal & colors are so great. It slows your brain and makes it more focused on what you are trying to say to God and lets you listen. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Diann,
Thanks for sharing. Our minds were created for thinking, so we need to be gentle with ourselves to just allow those “vacuuming” thoughts just drift on by. Spiritual practices like prayer are called practices because they take practice!

I LOVE that you have one place that is your prayer place to go to. You’ve set a place of intentional prayer to be in God’s presence. So beautiful and powerful.

I think rituals are important. I have my coffee with God each morning. Like you, I have my place (which happens to be in my office).

I love the breathing prayer which I would add as a breathing meditation, too. Instead of breathing and “talking” to God, it’s breathing and “listening” to God. I’m reminded that in the beginning God breathed life into Adam. The time we take to be in God’s presence is life giving.

  11. I wanted to share one of my most valuable tools for prayer- Journaling. I include everything in my journal: gratitude, requests for others, worship, and business brainstorming. I LOVE having it all in one place where I can review it (and know where it is). AND, I use a technique called Praying in Color so I can find things easily. It has transformed my prayer life. What strategies do you use for prayer?

    • Hello Deneen,

I love to journal but fell off. I am planning to become more discipline with my journaling.

    • Shemeka,
For me, journaling is not long prose. My journal is full of color, doodles, block lettering and such. I keep everything in my one journal. Then I tab out (in the same color) ideas for my business, prayers for others, etc.
I think time or length of journal entry is not the issue. I think consistency is and creating the habit of going to God with all parts of your life.
      Does that make sense?

    • Deneen,
I agree with you that journaling is a valuable tool for prayer. It’s also a valuable tool for healing and for receiving discernment and inspiration from God.

I love your tab idea! Wish I had found you 15 years ago! I have volumes of journals that I don’t know where those thoughts are except to go back through them.

I’m going to be implementing that idea. Thank you!
