  5. Hi Sisters! I’m currently reading the book, The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek. The book poses the following questions:

How do we win a game that has no end?

How do we play to succeed in the game we’re in?

Simon Sinek offers a framework for leading with an infinite mindset. Leaders who embrace an infinite mindset build stronger, more innovative, more inspiring organizations. Ultimately, they are the ones who lead us into the future.

I wanted to share one of my big takeaways.

Any leader that wants to adapt an infinite mindset will:
    1) Advance a just cause
    2) Build trusting teams
    3) Study your worthy rivals (there is no such thing as competition)
    4) Prepare for existential flexibility
    5) Demonstrate the courage to lead

Any leader that wishes to lead in the infinite game must have a crystal clear just cause. A just cause is a specific vision for the future that does not yet exist. The future state must be so appealing that people are willing to make sacrifices for it!

As I read this, I thought about the great work that we are doing with Women of Audacious Faith! Please share your thoughts.

    • Turiya, for sharing the book The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek, I definitely will be adding this book to my tool kit. Thanks so much for sharing your take aways. My best take away from your share is this is no such thing as competition. Which makes me think not to compare myself with others but learn, be open and better see relational currency and collaborative measures. You are loved, appreciated, celebrated, valued and most cherished with this share. Thanks this is what I call a Super Fabulous Girlfriend Nugget, that is priceless.

    • Turiya, when I think about the infinite game, I think about what Christ has called us to here on earth so we can be infinitely with Him for all eternity. We are to develop relationships with non-believers so we have the opportunity to show God’s goodness and share Christ.
When we have this mindset, we see our work (business) as our ‘good works’. There is no moment wasted that we don’t have the opportunity to SHINE for Christ.
I am going to see if I can get this book on my Hoopla!

    • This sounds good. I would add it to my reading wish list!

  6. I believe anyone can be trained to be a leader but they must have integrity as a prerequisite. That is not something you can train. How do you feel about that?

    • I am currently working full time and constantly looking for the right leadership training. Theore are so many options and I am now learning how to clarity and select the best one that would offer the ROI I need. I agree that leaders should have integrity.

    • This is so true Karen. When you lead you must treat your team with the highest of integrity. I believe it is the heart to serve people knowing first and fore most that you are leading people that are eternal. Leadership is laborious and with tough decisions to be made. We can not let our emotions over rule the right from the wrong. The toughest of tasks when dealing with people will be met with mercy and grace when we raise our leadership standards, speech and actions to Gods Standards. It does necessarily make the task easier, but it blesses Gods people and ultimately the Lord. Being placed in leadership at any level is a gift from God.

    • Shemeka, What does leadership training look like for you? Do you prefer workshops, online courses, conferences, or something else? I am interested it what options you have looked at and why you decided to choose (or not choose) them.
